Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg returns from Italy to Albania, after the military expedition to help King Ferdinand I of Naples. In August 1461, at the head of 2-3 thousand fighters, Skenderbeg left for Italy himself and landed in Barleta, where King Ferdinand was surrounded. Skanderbeg organized successive attacks to capture the fortified centers held by the Prince of Taranto and opponents of King Ferdinand. The help of the Albanian fighters influenced the revival of Skanderbeg’s relations with the Kingdom of Naples and its allies. (In the picture: Map of Skanderbeg’s military expeditions in Italy.)
