The International Control Commission sent to Neuwied (Neuwied, Germany) a delegation of 14 members, headed by Esat Toptani, to officially offer Wilhelm Wied the throne of Albania, expressing the desire and hope to see him as soon as possible in Albania. Wied was recognized as a prince of Albania by all the Great Powers, followed by other countries, including the Balkan countries. (In the photo: Albanian delegation in Rome, 1914.)
