On April 5, 1920 , in Hajmel, Zadrima, Dom Ejëll Kovaçi, a catholic clergyman, was born. He is one of the clerics who refused to sign the Statute of the Catholic Church. In 1957, after several years of service in the parish of Koman, he was transferred to the parish of the village of Qelëz (Shkodër). On August 21, 1958, he was arrested for the third time, on the charge that, “in cooperation with spies and saboteurs, on the night of November 26, 1951, they organized and carried out with terrorist purposes, inside the church of Qelëz village, the murder of the activist of the organs of state security, Comrade Mark, and has carried out the work of preparation to escape abroad in cooperation”. In November of the same year, the trial against him began in the “Republika” movie theater and with decision no. 12, dated November 10, 1958, was sentenced to death by firing squad.
