On April 6, 1956, in the village of Poro in Vlora, Ilia Dashi was born, sailor of the Navy, Hero of the People. During the uprising of service in the Fleet, while in his military post, he threw himself into the flames and sacrificed himself to save his ship “Sami Frashëri” and his comrades from the fire.
