On April 26, 1960, the first television broadcast of Albanian Television began. Initially, live broadcasts were limited to a 3 hour slot, on 2 days of the week. Then, in 1965, the presence of the Albanian screen was doubled with 4 broadcast days during the week, until gradually the television program became daily. The topics covered were diverse, including information on domestic and international current events, cinematographic achievements, and cultural activities. At that time, broadcasts were carried out through the “PAL” system and were in black and white, while in 1981 color broadcasts would begin in a low percentage. In its activity, Albanian Radio Television aimed to maintain cooperative relations with televisions from several countries, such as: Turkey, Algeria, Greece, Italy, France, Sweden, Iran, Egypt, Syria, etc. (In the photo: The building of the Albanian Radio Television.)
