In Tirana, Mustafa Arapi, Albanian painter, graphic artist, researcher and restorer of medieval art works, was born. One of the important contemporary Albanian artists and one of the most popular nature landscapers in Albania. Arapi studied graphics at the Higher Institute of Arts in Tirana and was for many years a restorer and researcher of medieval art works at the Institute of Cultural Monuments in Tirana (1978 – 2007). The artist’s creativity is quite wide and he creates interesting cycles in painting, such as: the cycle of mythology, ballads, legends, throne and power, statues, etc. Subjects, such as love, betrayal, intrigue, power, battle, bride, death, etc., often serve as inspiration for the artist in the creation of paintings that unfold before the public mastery, magic, drama, beauty and monumentality. His work is thought to be influenced by European traditional and contemporary painting . He passed away in 2021. (In the photo: Mustafa Arapi)
