Liri Gero was born in Fier and a participant in the Anti-Fascist National Liberation War, the Heroine of the People. She joined the ranks of the Communist Youth in 1942 and helped organize and mobilize the youth of the city of Fier in the Anti-Fascist National Liberation War. At the beginning of 1943, she was accepted as a member of the Albanian Communist Party. She distinguished herself as an agitator of the ideas of the Anti-Fascist National Liberation War. Participated as squad commander in the battles of the IV battalion of the XVI Assault Brigade. In a fight with the German Nazis in Cukas of Fier-Shegan (Lushnjë), in 1944, after being wounded several times, she was captured by the invaders, who burned her alive. (In the photo: Liri Gero)
