Father Artur Liolin, chancellor of the Albanian Orthodox Church in America, was born in New York. He was born in a family from Boboshtica in Korça. After finishing high school in New York, he studied at the “Albert Schwetzer” college in Switzerland (1964-1965). He pursued higher studies and graduated from Princeton University (Princeton) in theology, art and archaeology. He also conducted studies in the field of arts and medieval archaeology, studied music theory, composition and organ. He started his ecclesiastical career in 1970, after becoming a priest at St. George’s Cathedral, in Boston. In 1975 he was put in charge of the Albanian Orthodox Church of the United States of America and became its chancellor . During 30 years of church activity, Artur Liolin has paid attention to work in the field of charity, religious education and social interests of his countrymen.
