During the fierce fighting in Junik of Gjakova, Permet Vula, a fighter of the Kosovo Liberation Army, a martyr, was killed. He was born in Gjakovë, in 1978. He attended primary school and high school in his hometown. He had a great desire to enroll in the Military Academy in Tirana. He was a distinguished sportsman, either as a weightlifter or as a football player. Permet grew up in the vortex of riots, suffering, mistreatment of the Albanian people. Terror and violence against Albanians increased day by day. The martyr’s house in Gjakova became a source of brave men and, at the same time, a starting point to join the ranks of the Kosovo Liberation Army. Permet Vula, together with 12 other friends from Gjakova, responded to the invitation to join the ranks of the Kosovo Liberation Army for the final liberation of Kosovo from the Serbian hoof. Permet Vula was initially recruited as a frontline soldier, in the “Commando” unit of the Dukagjin Operative Zone. Today, the martyr’s body rests in the Martyrs’ Cemetery, in Gjakova.
