Mustafa Greblleshi, a poet, writer, and translator, was born in Tirana. He completed his primary education in Vlorë and his secondary education at the Tirana High School. He registered at the University of Turin, Faculty of Literature, but was forced to interrupt his studies. Under the pseudonym Liu i Cakut, he developed extensive literary and journalistic activities in magazines such as “Tomori,” “Njeriu” (“Man”) “Bleta” (“The bee”), “Kultura Islame” (“Islamic Culture”) “Vatra” (“Hearth”), “Drini“, “Revista Letrare” (“Literary Magazine”) etc. After the war, he worked as an editor for the newspaper “Bashkimi” (“Unity”) from its inception until 1946 when he was arrested as an “enemy of the people”. After being released from prison, he worked as a language teacher in several cities for several years. However, he was soon deemed unfit to pursue such a profession, so he was removed from education and forced to work as a laborer until 1974.
