Enver Topalli, activist, political prisoner, martyr, was born in the village of Greme-Topojan in Ferizaj. He completed his secondary education in Ferizaj, and continued his studies in economics at the University of Prishtina. In 1979 he was arrested for illegal activities. In 1982 he emigrated to Switzerland. In Byl of Friburg (Switzerland) he founded the club “Shotë Galica”. In 1983, he returned to Kosova, was arrested for the second time, then released, but he was arrested again for the third time in 1984 and on the charge of “association for hostile activities” he was sentenced to 14 years in prison. After the amnesty, he was released from prison in July 1991. He became an active member of the Council for the Protection of Human Rights and Freedoms (1991) and of the Presidency of the branch of the Democratic League of Kosova (DLK) in Ferizaj. In the elections of May 1992, organized by the DLK, he was elected a member of the Parliament of Kosova. On June 25, 1998, he was arrested by the Serbian police for activities related to the organization of the Kosova Liberation Army and was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
