In the village of Shkabë (formerly Gllanaselle) in Drenas, Kosovo, Fehmi Lladrovci was born, an activist of the Kosovo People’s Movement, a fighter in the Kosovo Liberation Army, and a Hero of Kosovo. He was born in the village of Shkabë (formerly Gllanaselle) in Drenas in 1956. After finishing high school, he graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Zagreb. From a young age, he began his political activism. In April 1985, he was appointed secretary for military affairs in the People’s Movement for the Republic of Kosovo. In November of that same year, he was arrested and sentenced to 10 years in prison. In June 1990, he was released from prison after an amnesty in Croatia. He lived for a short time in Kosovo and later left the country. Along with his wife and fellow fighter Xhevë (Krasniqi) Lladrovci, he participated in the war in Croatia. He was one of the key figures of the Kosovo People’s Movement, actively involved in forming the first units of the Kosovo Liberation Army. After the outbreak of the war in Kosovo, in May 1997, together with a group of comrades, he returned to Kosovo. He participated in all the battles that took place in Drenica and other regions of Kosovo. He was appointed commander of the 114th Brigade of the Kosovo Liberation Army. In July and September 1998, Serbian military-police forces launched successive offensives against the resistance in the liberated zones across Drenica. Fehmi Lladrovci fell in battle along with Xhevë, his wife and inseparable comrade-in-arms. The 114th Brigade of the Kosovo Liberation Army was named in his honor. In 2008, the President of the Republic of Kosovo awarded Fehmi Lladrovci the “Hero of Kosovo” order; in 2014, on the 16th anniversary of his fall, Croatia honored the Lladrovci family with the “Gold Medal” for their contribution to the liberation of that country; and on February 13, 2015, the President of the Republic of Albania decorated him with the “Honor of the Nation” order.
