Ndrekë Luca, theater and cinematographer, People’s Artist, was born in Dukagjin. In 1950, he started working as an actor in the People’s Theater with the role of Shpend Gjeto Plaku in the drama “Halili dhe Hajrija” (“Halili e Hajrirja”) by Kolë Jakova. He played a gallery of roles from works of Albanian and foreign literature. Ndrekë Luca has realized over 30 films in cinematography, which stand out for their unique character, such as: Dom Marku in “Komisari i dritës“ (“Commissioner of Light”), Ndrioja in “Udha e shkronjave“ (“The path of letters”), Gjini in “Plagë të vjetra“ (“Old wounds”), Pjetër Mustaqekuqi in “Operacioni ‘Zjarri“ (“Operation Fire”), Ramiu in “Dueli i heshtur“ (“The silent duel”) etc. Ndrekë Luca was an actor with a wide range of interpretation, who knew how to adapt to different plans, both comic and tragic, both heroic and ordinary; possessed highly expressive mimicry, accurately used figurative gesture, plastic, and other means of visual identification of the character.
