The “Postriba Uprising”

Lexo ngjarje:

The “Postriba Uprising” took place, one of the first anti-communist armed movements. The elite of the city of Shkodra, the real anti-communists and nationalists from the villages of Shkodra participated in this movement, which had great value in local, national, political and geopolitical terms. Postriba’s uprising had the strategic premises to expand as a general uprising. So, it was a well-rehearsed uprising that would bring down the dictatorship. A group of about 200 people, led by Jub Kazazi and Osman Haxhia, attacked the military barracks and government buildings, but without success. After the suppression of the uprising, punitive judicial processes started, separated from each other, due to the large number of accused. In the first trials, what was established is that in addition to the suspects as insurgents, there was a large number of clerics and intellectuals from Shkodra. On the first day, in a field near the city, twenty-eight people were executed, many villagers were shot innocently and without trial, many houses were burned. This courageous act was the reason for “cleansing” the entire city of Shkodra of “enemies of the people”. (In the photo: Jakup Kazazi lying down and the communist executioners around him.)
