Marie Logoreci, actress, People’s Artist, was born in Shkodër. She was born in Shkodër in 1920. In 1947 she was accepted as a professional actress at the People’s Theatre. She became known with the interpretation of the role of Loke in the drama “Toka jonë“ (“Our land”) (1954) by Kolë Jakova, which she later played in the film with the same title. Marie Logoreci embodied many figures from Albanian and foreign dramaturgy, but she stood out especially in the roles: Bernarda Alba in the drama “The House of Bernarda Alba” (Federiko Garcia Lorka), Gertrude in “Hamlet” (Shakespeare), mother in the drama “Cuca e maleve“ (“The girl of the mountains”) (Loni Papa) and Gjela in the drama “Përmbytja e madhe” (“The great flood”) (Kolë Jakova). He also played in the first Albanian short film “Fëmijët e saj“ (“Her children”) (1957). Marie Logoreci has brought to the stage figures of women and mothers who are suffering, but proud and stoic; her acting is often characterized as tragic. She passed away in Tirana, in 1988.
