Vlash Prifti

Vlash Prifti was born in Tirana, graphic painter and ceramist of Albanian art of the 20th century in Albania. He attended the “Jordan Misja” Artistic High School, Tirana, in the ceramics department (1952-1958) and the High Institute of Arts, in the graphics department (1969). He worked as a specialist in industrial serigraphy at the Porcelain Factory, in Tirana and from 1974, Vlash Prifti was a graphics teacher and head of the graphics laboratory at the High Institute of Arts, Tirana. Starting from 1974, the artist Vlash Prifti has participated with graphics and posters in local, national and international exhibitions (Biennale of Alexandria). In the graphics of the artist’s creativity, one feels the tendency towards a free artistic expression, preferring the large form and the general emotion, while the posters comply with the requirements of the time. After 2002, Vlash Prifti was involved in translations of visual arts publications. (In the photo: Priest’s work “At the front of the war”, 1978, linoleum on paper.)
