In the village of Kralan in Gjakova, Ilir Soba, a fighter of the Kosovo Liberation Army, a martyr, was killed during the fierce fighting. He was born in Gjakovë, in 1971. He completed primary and secondary school in his hometown. After high school, he enrolled at the University of Pristina, at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, branch of automation. But in the third year, he was forced to stop his studies and on May 25, 1998, he joined the ranks of the Kosovo Liberation Army, at the Gllogjani Headquarters. He took part in the front line in the battles that took place in Prejlep, Prekolluk, Lumbardh, Broliq, Jabllanicë of Gjakova, etc. On October 17-18, 1998, when Serbian forces settled in the village of Kralan in Gjakova, an area that until that day was controlled by observers of the Kosovo Liberation Army, there was an open confrontation with Serbian forces.
