The painter Gerome traveled through the countries of the East and Albania. During his journey through our country, he created several paintings. The composition <i>&#8220;Albanians playing chess&#8221;<\/i> is recognized as one of the most accomplished and beautiful works of the painter with a theme from the East. This work is kept in New York galleries.
