Mati Logoreci, Albanian school activist, researcher, publicist, Teacher of the People, passed away. He was born in Shkod\u00ebr. He served 45 years as a teacher in various schools in Shkodra, Skopje and Tirana. He served as the general inspector of education in Albania (1916 – 1918), the director of the girls’ school in Tirana, the vice president of the commission for textbooks and school literature, etc. He participated in the Congress of Lushnja (1920). As an Albanian education activist, he formed the “Gjuha shqipe” club in Shkod\u00ebr (1908), participated in the educational congresses of Manastir (1908) and Tirana (1922, 1924). He directed the newspapers “Dashamiri” (\u201cThe Benevolent\u201d)<\/i> and “Dashamiri i Ri” (\u201cThe Young Benevolent\u201d)<\/i> (1907-1908) and collaborated with the organs “Gazeta e re” (\u201cThe New Newspaper\u201d)<\/i>, “Revista pedagogjike” (“The Pedagogical Magazine”)<\/i> etc. He enriched the Albanian school of the time with a number of necessary texts: “Ndolli historije t’motshme” (\u201cEvents of old stories\u201d) <\/i>(1911), \u201cAbetar i vog\u00ebl p\u00ebr Msojtore\u201d (\u201cSmall Primer for Schools\u201d)<\/i> (1914), \u201cLib\u00ebr leximi p\u00ebr shkolla t\u00eb mesme\u201d (\u201cReading book for high schools\u201d) <\/i>(1920), \u201cLib\u00ebr i m\u00ebsuesit p\u00ebr p\u00ebrdorim t\u2019abetarit prej Mati Logorecit\u201d (“Teacher’s book for primer use by Mati Logoreci”)<\/i> (pa vit botimi), \u201cFjalorth i librit t\u00eb leximit p\u00ebr mosh\u00ebn e njom\u00eb\u201d (“Glossary of the reading rook for the young age”)<\/i> (with about 1000 words, 1934) etc. He worked persistently for the purity of the Albanian language, for its enrichment and for the creation of new words.
