He was born in Beltoj\u00eb. At the height of the communist regime, since the Albanian Pontifical Seminary was closed, he was privately prepared to become a priest by Archbishop Ernest \u00c7oba, who ordained him a priest on December 8, 1961, together with Dom Marin Shkurti. He was the vicar of Daj\u00e7i on the Buna coast and then of Barbullushi (Shkod\u00ebr). He was arrested in Beltoja (Shkod\u00ebr) and imprisoned in Shkod\u00ebr on April 19, 1973.
