He completed primary school at the Franciscans, and secondary school at the city&#8217;s Pontifical Seminary. He was ordained a priest on February 24, 1943, in the Jesuit church in Shkod\u00ebr, where he celebrated the First Mass the next day. He served as a parish priest in the village of Bushat. He was arrested on November 12, 1947, and on November 27 of the same year, the Shkodra Military Court declared him guilty of &#8220;criminal offenses against the people and the state&#8221; and sentenced him to ten years in prison and forced labor.
