In Brussels, the first issue of the magazine “Albania” (1897-1909), a bi-weekly political, cultural, scientific and literary magazine, was published. After the publication of the first issue, from 1903 to 1909, the magazine was published in London. It was published in Albanian and French, in some parts also in Turkish, with an addition in English. Under the leadership of Faik Konica (under the pseudonym Thrank Spiro beg), it became the most important press organ of the Renaissance. “Albania” gave wide space to political and literary issues, folklore materials and ethnological issues, articles and documents about the history of Albania, and the traditions and culture of the Albanian people. It thus became a kind of encyclopedia that circulated rich cultural, scientific and historical information. By publishing especially poetry, artistic prose, poetic prose, or journalistic prose, “Albania” contributed to the development of these genres and, in general, to the development of Renaissance literature. Issues of the alphabet and literary Albanian were discussed on the magazine pages; the magazine played an important role for the stabilization of the alphabet and for cultivating and enriching the language of the modern culture of Albanians. Writings with a political, historical and cultural character, also published in French, helped to make the Albanian issue known in foreign scientific and cultural circles. “Albania” inaugurated the Albanian literary criticism, publishing articles and reviews of works by Albanian and Arb\u00ebresh authors, among which the sharp critical judgments of its director stand out. A number of prominent writers and activists of the time collaborated in the magazine, such as A.Z. \u00c7ajupi, F.S. Noli, Asdreni, Gj. Fishta, L. Gurakuqi, F. Shiroka, H. Mosi, Sh.
