On April 13, 2004, <\/strong>Bedri Dedja, teacher and psychologist, historian of the Albanian education, writer, theorist and critic of children’s literature, academic, passed away in Tirana. He was born in Kor\u00e7a. He completed his higher studies at the “Lenin” Institute in Moscow (1953), simultaneously pursuing two fields of study: pedagogy-psychology and children’s literature. He was a lecturer and dean of the Faculty of History and Philology at the Higher Pedagogical Institute (1954-1957), director of the 2-year Higher Pedagogical Institute of Tirana (1957-1958), editor-in-chief of the newspaper “M\u00ebsuesi”, of the magazines “Arsimi popullor” and “Fatosi”; Deputy Minister of Education and Culture (1970-1973) etc. He is the author of pedagogical and psychological scientific publications: \u201cRrug\u00ebt e perfeksionimit t\u00eb sistemit t\u00eb sot\u00ebm t\u00eb edukat\u00ebs familjare\u201d<\/i>(\u201cThe paths to perfecting the current family education system\u201d<\/i>) (1966), \u201cSh\u00ebnime p\u00ebr historin\u00eb e mendimit pedagogjik shqiptar\u201d (\u201cNotes on the history of Albanian pedagogical thought<\/i>\u201d) (1972), \u201cStudime p\u00ebr problemin e metodave t\u00eb dh\u00ebnies s\u00eb m\u00ebsimit n\u00eb shkoll\u00eb\u201d<\/i> (\u201cStudies<\/i> on the problem of teaching methods in schools\u201d<\/i>) (1987), \u201cPsikologjia sociale\u201d<\/i> (\u201cSocial<\/i> psychology\u201d<\/i>) (1990), \u201cSekreti i talentit\u201d <\/i>(\u201cThe secret of talent\u201d<\/i>) (1998) etc.; co-author of psychology texts for high schools and postgraduate courses, as in the work \u201cHistoria e arsimit dhe e mendimit pedagogjik shqiptar I\u201d<\/i> (\u201cThe history of Albanian education and pedagogical thought I\u201d<\/i>) (2004), etc. Among the main works as a writer of children’s literature, are the novels \u201cKalamajt\u00eb e pallatit tim\u201d<\/i> (\u201cToads of my palace\u201d<\/i>) (1972), \u201cMet partizani\u201d<\/i> (\u201cMet<\/i> the partisan\u201d<\/i>) (1981), \u201cKacamisri rreth globit\u201d<\/i> (\u201cKacamisri around the globe\u201d<\/i>) (1993), \u201cNj\u00eb udh\u00ebtim i rreziksh\u00ebm\u201d<\/i> (\u201cA dangerous journey<\/i>\u201d) (1962), \u201cQyteti me tri k\u00ebshtjella\u201d<\/i> (\u201cThe city with three castles\u201d<\/i>) (2003); the poem “Shkolla e pyllit”<\/i> (\u201cThe forest school\u201d<\/i>) (1967), the volumes \u201cP\u00ebrralla nj\u00ebmb\u00ebdhjet\u00ebkat\u00ebshe\u201d<\/i> (\u201cThe nineteen-story fairy tale\u201d<\/i>) (1996); as a researcher, he published the books \u201cTradita e probleme t\u00eb let\u00ebrsis\u00eb shqipe p\u00ebr f\u00ebmij\u00eb\u201d (\u201cThe tradition and issues of Albanian children’s literature\u201d<\/i>) (1971), \u201cShkrime mbi let\u00ebrsin\u00eb p\u00ebr f\u00ebmij\u00eb\u201d<\/i> (\u201cWritings on children’s literature\u201d<\/i>) (1978), \u201cLet\u00ebrsia p\u00ebr f\u00ebmij\u00eb\u201d<\/i> (\u201cChildren’s literature\u201d<\/i>) (1961) etc. For this activity, he received the Order of the International Book Organization for Children and Young People (Zurich, 2000).
