It is the first and biggest massacre that the German Nazis carried out against the civilian population in Albania in the years of World War II. They razed the village of Borovo and killed 107 people, including women, children up to 16 years old, old men and women and other vulnerable people. The massacre of Borova aroused hatred and revolt throughout the Albanian people.
