Kostandini A. (Taso), part of important contemporary Albanian artists, was born in Pogradec. He studied painting at the Artistic High School “Jordan Misja”, Tirana and graduated from the Higher Institute of Arts, Tirana, in monumental painting (1978). Taso was a co-author in the creation of the “Shqip\u0451ria” mosaic on the facade of the National Historical Museum, Tirana. Kostandini A. (Taso) is the artist who has created his works in all genres of visual art. The artist is one of the most popular Albanian graphic artists, known for cycles with social and historical themes. He was awarded the title of “Merited Painter” (1991) and “Honorary Citizen” (2005) of the city of Pogradec. Atelier “Taso” is currently the artist’s two-story apartment in Pogradec, near the city center. Apart from the studio-atelier where the artist creates, all other areas of the house have been turned into museum premises.
