In Tirana, the film studio \u201cShqip\u00ebria e Re\u201d (New Albania) was inaugurated, a national cinematographic enterprise that produced feature films, documentaries, and animations. It continued to operate until 1992 when it was divided into three institutions: Alba Film Studio, Alba Film Animation, and Albafilm Distribution. With the establishment of the film studio as an important artistic institution, the new Albanian cinematography was built on industrial technical bases. In 1958, the first feature film “Tana” was produced. Subsequently, the production of films increased, including chronicles, documentaries, and feature films, and the range of their themes and genres expanded. In 1975, the first animated film “Zana and Miri” was produced. During the 1970s and 1980s, cinematographic production increased, giving rise to works with ideological and artistic value. During the 1980s, the “Shqip\u00ebria e Re” film studio produced about 14 feature films per year, 40 documentaries and chronicles, and 16 animated films in various techniques. The ” Shqip\u00ebria e Re\u201d film studio consisted of three specialized core sectors: the feature film sector, the documentary film sector, and the animated film sector, each with its respective editorial offices. It had the state film archive, technical departments equipped with machinery, studios, recording and dubbing rooms, editing environments, music rooms, and sound facilities. The films were screened in 450 cinema halls, mobile cinemas, and via television.
