Lefter Nasi, historian, was born in Hoshtovo, Zagoria. In 1950, his family settled in Tirana, where he completed primary and secondary education and studied history and geography at the University of Tirana. He worked at the Institute of Pedagogical Studies and simultaneously as an external lecturer at the Faculty of History and Philology of the University of Tirana. In 1979, he was employed in the history department of Kosovo at the Institute of History in Tirana, while from 1989 to 1994, he was the deputy director of the Institute of History. From 1994 until the end of his life, he worked as a scientific secretary of the social and Albanian sciences section at the Academy of Sciences of Albania. He studied modern history. He published numerous scientific works and articles at home and abroad. He is the author of the monographs “Reconquest of Kosovo” (1994), “Aspects of the national and political oppression of the Albanians in Kosovo (1981-1986)” (1995), etc., then co-editor of the volumes: “The truth about Kosovo and the Albanians in Yugoslavia” (1990) and “Kosovo a historical and current problem” (1995). He was a member of the editorial boards of several scientific journals and participated with reports and papers in several important scientific conferences. He passed away in 2007.
