In Bergama (Turkey), Hasan Feri, activist of the Albanian National Movement during the end of the 19th century and the first decades of the 20th century, passed away. He was the main leader of the province of Plave-Guci. He was born in Plav\u00eb, in 1864. He was the first son of Jakup Feri. In the 90s of the 19th century, he directed actions to defend the province against Montenegrin gangs. In 1899, he participated in the Albanian League of Peja alongside its leader, Haxhi Zeke. From that time until 1912, he represented Plav\u00eb-Guci in all the political and combat activities of the National Movement in the northern and northeastern Albanian territories. He collaborated with Isa Boletini, Bajram Curri, Hasan Prishtina, etc., in the great anti-Ottoman uprisings of 1909-1912. In the fall of 1912, together with Bajram Currin, he organized the resistance against the Montenegrin army that attacked Plava and Guci. After the Declaration of Independence, Hasan Feri became an important figure in the national movement. In the framework of the activity to implement its program, when the First World War ended, Hasan Feri intensified efforts to avoid the Serbo-Montenegrin reconquest of the province and the repetition of the terror of 1912\u20131913. With the support of the “National Defense of Kosovo” Committee and his fellow citizens, he contributed to the defense of the province’s freedom until February 1919. In 1920, although exiled in Shkod\u00ebr, he played an important role in mobilizing the forces of Albanian volunteers who were engaged in Koplik to cope with the Yugoslav military intervention. In the political confrontations in Albania in 1921-1924, he was positioned alongside the democratic opposition. His support for the June Revolution in 1924 led him to prison in 1925.
