Loro Kova\u00e7i, actor, People’s Artist, passed away in Tirana. He was born in Shkod\u00ebr, in 1903. During the years 1923-1926, he was a member of the “Bogdani” society. Then he created his own theater group, which operated until 1939. In that period, Loro Kova\u00e7i performed several historical figures, such as Moses Golem, Skenderbeu and Lek\u00eb Dukagjin. In 1947, Loro Kova\u00e7i started playing at the People’s Theater, where he worked until the end of his life. In the role of Bejtash Syla (“Halili dhe Hajrija” by Kol\u00eb Jakovo, 1952) his experience in the interpretation of historical roles was evident. He became particularly known for his role as Tu\u00e7 Makut (1954) in the drama “Toka jon\u00eb” (Kol\u00eb Jakova). He portrayed artistic figures on stage with a high level of skill and national character. He also achieved success in roles from world dramatists, such as the judge and prefect in “Revizori” by Nikolai Gogol (1952), Othello and Claudius in “Othello” (1953) and “Hamlet” (1960) by Shakespeare. He also acted in films such as \u201cBijt\u00eb e saj,\u201d “Debatiku,” “Toka jon\u00eb,” “Komisari i drit\u00ebs,” etc., where he particularly excelled in character roles.
