\u00c7iprian Nika was born in Shkod\u00ebr, a teacher, publicist, and martyr of the Catholic Church. Left an orphan at the age of five, he attended elementary and high school with the friars in Shkod\u00ebr, while he pursued theology studies in Austria. He entered the Franciscan Order on October 16, 1916, and took solemn vows on September 16, 1921, while on July 25, 1924, he was ordained a priest in the city of Rome, Italy. During his life, he undertook several key roles, such as teacher of novices and clerics, provincial of the Franciscans (1938\u20131941), and guardian of the Shkod\u00ebr convent from 1943 until the end of his life. He was arrested on charges of placing and hiding weapons on the church altar, with the assumption of planning an armed uprising. On December 28, 1947, Ciprian Nika was sentenced to death by firing squad. He was executed in Zall-Kir, Shkod\u00ebr, on March 11, 1948. (In the photo: Father \u00c7iprian Nika)<\/i><\/p>\n
