Bujar Luca, Albanian-French painter, was born in Tirana. He is a successful artist in Paris, where he lives and creates since 1990. Luca completed his higher studies in scenography at the High Institute of Arts, Tirana (1978) and was a film painter at the former Kinostudio “New Albania” . Bujar Luca persistently delineates his pictorial tendency through an abstract art. Still, it also has a symbolic side, i.e. signs, symbols, meanings and pictorial gesture, which you must observe and discover within his graphic canvases . The message of his works in the form of cycles is “freedom”. The artist Bujar Luca has been awarded several prizes, such as “Ambassador of the Nation”, medal from the President of Albania (2008), “Silver Medal” from the “Richard Lounsbery” Foundation (2006) and three times winner of the first prize at the film festival Albanian as a costume designer (1979, 1981, 1985).
