In Shkod\u00ebr, Jordan Misja, anti-fascist activist, participant in the National Liberation Anti-Fascist War, was surrounded in his house by numerous police and fascist militia forces. The wounded man was captured alive. After two months of torture, the fascists hanged him on a rope.<\/p>\n
Jordan Misja was born in Shkod\u00ebr in 1911. He went to secondary school in Bitola, took supplementary exams at the Elbasan Normal School and started working as a teacher in the village of Vrak\u00eb (Shkod\u00ebr) and then in Dropull (Gjirokast\u00ebr). He embraced communist ideas and became a member of the Shkodra communist group. Because of his anti-fascist activity , he was fired from his job, but then he was appointed a teacher in Puka. Having a penchant for painting, he enrolled by correspondence at the Academy of Fine Arts, in Florence (1940), and passed his first year exams. Jordan Misja is among the first caricaturists in the field of political and social topics. On July 25, 1941, he was arrested for anti-fascist activity, but was released for lack of evidence. He became a member of the Albanian Communist Party when it was formed, closely connected with Vasil Shanto, Vojo Kushin, etc., participating in anti-fascist activities.
