The visit to Albania, in 1969, left a special impression on him and he decided to devote himself to research in the social anthropology of Albanians. Stayed in Kosovo (Isniq) in 1975, where he collected data and made observations in the country for the study &#8220;Changing Household Organization among the Albanians of Kosova&#8221;, which was published posthumously. with the title &#8220;Behind Stone Walls: Changing Household Organization among the Albanians of Kosova&#8221; (Pej\u00eb, 2003). Berit Beker became a supporter and defender of Albanian demands, especially after the demonstrations of 1981, engaging in international organizations, such as Amnesty International and the Helsinki Committee, as well as preparing special materials for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Immigration and Ministry of Justice of Norway. For her dense and fruitful activity in support of Albanians and Albania, Berit Beker was granted Albanian citizenship (1992).
