Agim Bajrami, a fighter of the Kosovo Liberation Army, Hero of Kosovo, died heroically in Ka\u00e7anik. He was born in the village of Stagov\u00eb in Ka\u00e7anik, in 1964. In 1981, he was one of the organizers of demonstrations in Ka\u00e7anik and other cities of Kosovo. Worked at home and abroad. He was a member of the organization People’s Movement of Kosovo (LPK). In 1988, he became a soldier in the army of the former Yugoslavia, where he was then sentenced to 5 years in prison. After the amnesty and release from prison in 1991, he immigrated to Switzerland, where he continued his political activity among the exiles. With the outbreak of the war, he returned to Kosovo and joined the ranks of the Kosovo Liberation Army, in the Drenica region. Then the General Staff of the Kosovo Liberation Army charged him with the formation of Kosovo Liberation Army units for the district of Ka\u00e7anik. His statue has been raised in the center of the city of Ka\u00e7anik, while in 2016 he was decorated with the order “Hero of Kosovo” by the president of the Republic of Kosovo.
