The XI Assault Brigade of the Albanian National Liberation Army was formed in the liberated city of Fier. It was formed with fighters from 3 battalions of the Mallakastra group and a battalion from Myzeqe, with a strength of about 1200 fighters, who were organized into 4 battalions. In the framework of the Tirana War on November 11, in cooperation with the XII Assault Brigade, it hit a German motorcade near Peqin, which destroyed a part of its combat equipment and took a quantity of weapons and military material. Then it moved towards Durres and together with the forces of the XII Assault Brigade took part in the liberation of Peqin, Kavaja and Durres. It was deployed in the Durrës-Kavajë-Shijak area to secure the coast and clear this area of war criminals. In the period January-March 1945, together with several other units of the Albanian National Liberation Army, it participated in the operation that took place in Northern Albania, to establish the new government.
