Lec Shllaku, publicist and writer, was born in Shkodër. In his hometown, he attended the Franciscan school and then completed the Elbasan Normal School. He served as a teacher in Vlora, Himare and Permet (1934–1937). From 1937, when he started his higher studies at the Pedagogical Faculty of the University of Florence, he stayed in Italy until 1958. In 1958 he moved to Paris, where he stayed until the end of his life. He cooperated with the newspapers and magazines of the Albanian diaspora, such as “<\/span>Shenjëzat<\/span><\/em>” (“The signs”), “<\/span>Shqiptari i lirë<\/span><\/em>” (“The free Albanian”), “Dielli<\/em>” (“The sun”), “Jeta Katolike<\/em>” (“Catholic life”), “<\/span>Drita e vërtetë<\/span><\/em>” (“True light”), “<\/span>Ndërgjegjja<\/span><\/em>” (“Conscience”), etc., in which he wrote many articles, pamphlets and comments on the problems of art and Albanian culture. Lec Shllaku published the magazines: “Kombi shqiptar<\/em>” (“Albanian nation”) and “Shkumbini<\/em>” (1955-1956); directed the political, cultural and social magazine: “<\/span>Koha e jonë<\/span><\/em>” (1962-1992), which circulated in France and abroad. He is the author of the nonfiction book with a historical theme: “Skanderbeg<\/em>” (1983). Since 1971 he was a member of the European Community of Journalists <\/em>.
