Pavlina Mani, actress, Merited Artist, was born in Lushnja. After becoming active in the city’s amateur movement and variety show, as well as graduating from the Artistic High School “Jordan Misja” in 1967, majoring in music, she went to study at the Higher Institute of Arts, majoring in drama, which she graduated in 1970. Since then she was appointed an actress at the People’s Theatre. As a student, she played the role of Larisa in the drama “Dowry Girl” by N. Ostrovsky, a role which revealed an important side of her acting nature: the dramatic and psychological bearing, accompanied by poetic highlights, sometimes dressed in feminine vestments and acceptable melodramatic overlays. Mostly the actress has moved from the mindset of a woman, mother or daughter in love, always in plaintive tones, but without overlooking the shocking experiences. Pavlina Mani has also acted in 13 feature films, where she stood out with the role of Mrs. Lulushe in “Pas Vdekjes” (“After death”) (1980), while with the role of the mother in “Bolero” (1997) she was awarded as the best actress at the Euro-Festival of Saint Etienne in France. She has created a range of second roles, which add characters and which converge on the type of woman sometimes subtle, pampered, talkative, sometimes complaining and snobbish.
