Francesco Solano, Arber linguist, writer, was born in Frascineto, <\/em>province of Cosenza (Calabri). <\/span>He is known in literature as Dushko Vetmo. Studied theology in Italy and Argentina. He lived for nearly twenty years in Latin America (Argentina, Uruguay, Chile), to return to Italy again, working as a priest in his homeland. He was among the founders of the chair of Albanian at the University of Kozonca, which he directed for several years in a row. He published the grammar “Handbook of the Albanian language” ( Manuale di lingua albanese <\/em>) in 1972 and many study articles on the Albanian dialects. He also founded the magazine “Zjarri<\/em>” (“Fire”) in 1973. He published literary works: prose, poetry and drama. Since 1947, he published the first volume of poems “<\/span>Bubuqe t’egr<\/span>a” (“Wild buds”) then three plays, later the collection “<\/span>Tregimet e lëmi<\/span><\/em>t<\/span><\/em>“, etc. He was a participant in the International Seminar on Albanian Language, Literature and Culture, bringing with him his students from the University of Cozance.
