He was born in Ohrid, in 1874. After finishing the city school in Bitola, he studied for two years at the military high school in Istanbul. From a young age he devoted himself to the spread of national ideas; opened a French-language school in Ohrid, whose official permission he used to turn it into a school for learning the Albanian language. He stayed for a while in Bucharest, where he entered into cooperation with patriots of the Albanian colony. He participated as a delegate of Ohrid in the Assembly of Vlora (1912), which proclaimed the Independence of Albania.
