Niko Qafëzezi, agronomist, docent, passed away in Tirana. He was born in Korçë, in 1916. He graduated from the National High School (French) in his hometown. He attended higher studies and graduated from the Faculty of Agronomy of the University of Perugia (1941). He started working at the Zootechnical Institute in Xhafzotaj and in the years 1942-1944 <\/span>he was chief inspector in the Inspectorate of Agriculture in Prishtina. After the liberation, he worked in Korç<\/span>ë<\/span> and then in the Ministry of Agriculture. In 1952, he was appointed lecturer in charge of the Department of Phytotechnology at the Higher Agricultural Institute, where he served until he retired. He published the texts “<\/span>Kultivimi i bim<\/span>ë<\/span>ve<\/span>“<\/span> (“Cultivation of plants”)<\/span> (1957) and the books “<\/span><\/span>Fjalor i bujqësisë – shqip, latinisht, italisht, rusisht<\/span>”<\/span><\/span> (<\/span>“Dictionary of agriculture – Albanian, Latin, Italian, Russian”<\/span>)<\/span>(1978), etc., as well as a number of popularizing articles in the press of the time. <\/span><\/span>(In the photo: Niko Qafëzezi)<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n
