In Bresanone, Italy, Karl Gurakuqi, teacher and head of education, author of educational texts, publicist and head of pedagogical press bodies, passed away. He was born in Shkod\u00ebr, in 1895. He completed his higher studies at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Graz (Austria). After returning to his homeland (1917), he served as a teacher in Shkod\u00ebr and participated in the Literary Commission, as its secretary; he was secretary of the democratic Federation “Atdheu” (\u201cFatherland\u201d)(1921); worked as an education inspector in Vlora, Albanian and Latin teacher at the “Nana Mbretnesh\u00eb” (\u201cQueen Mother\u201d) Institute in Tirana; he was an inspector and head of section in the Ministry of Education; member of the Institute of Albanian Studies. Karl Gurakuqi edited and directed the magazines “Atdheu” (\u201cFatherland\u201d) (1921), “Agimi” (\u201cDawn\u201d)(1921-1922), “Revista pedagogjike” (\u201cPedagogical magazine\u201d) (1925-1927), “Mesuesi” (\u201cThe teacher\u201d) (1928), “Illyria<\/i>” (1935-1936) and \u201cShkolla komb\u00ebtare\u201d (\u201cNational school\u201d)(1938). His main publications belong to the field of education, such as: “Lib\u00ebr leximi p\u00ebr shkollat e mesme” (\u201cReading book for secondary schools\u201d)(co-author, 1920), “Gramatika latine” (\u201cLatin grammar\u201d)(1938), “Gramatika shqipe” (\u201cAlbanian grammar\u201d)(1940), “Rreze drite” (\u201cRay of light\u201d)(1941), etc. .
