Ali Muka was born in Toshk\u00ebs, P\u00ebrmet, and became a scholar of folk architecture and a professor. He completed his higher education and graduated as a civil engineer from the University of Tirana in 1966. Since 1969, he has been involved in the study of settlements and traditional housing as a precursor at the Institute of Folk Culture, and from 1979, he worked at this institute. He has published monographs such as “Banesa fshatare dhe familja e madhe” (\u201cVillage houses and the extended family\u201d)(Tirana, 2001), “Vendbanime dhe banesa popullore shqiptare” (\u201cSettlements and traditional Albanian houses\u201d)(co-author, 2004), “Nd\u00ebrtime tradicionale shqiptare\u201d (\u201cTraditional Albanian buildings\u201d) (Tirana, 2007), as well as a series of scholarly articles. He has given lectures on folk architecture, provided assistance in the establishment of the Museum of Medieval Art in Kor\u00e7\u00eb and the museum complex of the Albanian League of Prizren, in the project design for the open-air village museum, and for the National Ethnographic Museum, etc. He passed away in 2022.
