Remzi P\u00ebrnaska was born in Kor\u00e7\u00eb, a linguist and educator. In his hometown, he completed his secondary education. He studied Russian language at the Higher Pedagogical Institute in Tirana, continued his higher education in Turkish philology at the Institute of Oriental Languages in Moscow (1960\u20131961), and completed his studies in Albanian language and literature at the University of Tirana (1961\u20131963). He worked as a syntax teacher at the Albanian language department of the University of Tirana (1963\u20131974), a research worker at the Institute of Linguistics and Literature (1982\u20131991), Albanian language lecturer at the Institute of Oriental Languages and Civilizations in Paris (1974\u20131982 and 1991\u20131997), associate professor at the Practical School of Higher Studies at the University of Sorbonne (Paris). He published the monograph “Kundranori me parafjal\u00eb n\u00eb gjuh\u00ebn shqipe” (\u201cAccusative Object with prepositions in Albanian Language\u201d) (Peja, 1996), and the book “La syntaxe de l’\u00e9nonc\u00e9 en albanais contemporain (la syntaxe des formes atonnes des pronoms)” (\u201cThe Syntax of the Sentence in Contemporary Albanian: The Syntax of Atonic Forms of Pronouns\u201d), Lile, 1996. He co-authored the work “Gramatika e gjuh\u00ebs shqipe, v\u00ebll. II Sintaksa” (\u201cGrammar of the Albanian Language, Vol. II Syntax\u201d) (1996, 2002). He has written numerous scholarly articles on syntax and morphology issues in Albanian. He is a co-author of a text for teaching Albanian “Parlons albanais” (\u201cLet’s Speak Albanian\u201d) (Paris, 1999) and the author of two handbooks for teaching Albanian to French speakers. He authored several texts on higher and secondary education. He was a member of the Linguistic Society of Paris and the Association of Linguists of France.
