Mumin Selami, an activist of the National Liberation Anti-Fascist Movement and Hero of the People, was born in the village of Kallarat in Vlor\u00eb in 1923. During his time at high school in Tirana, he embraced communist ideas. After the fascist occupation of the country, he engaged in anti-fascist activities and was expelled from school for this reason. He was imprisoned and interned for over a year in his village, where he continued his anti-fascist activities. With the founding of the Communist Party of Albania, he embraced its line and continued the fight against fascism and its collaborators, participating in daring attacks. He was arrested and imprisoned twice, in Tirana and Vlor\u00eb, subjected to torture, but released due to lack of evidence. On the night of October 18th, he found himself surrounded by fascist forces at the illegal base in the “Tophana<\/i>” neighborhood of Vlor\u00eb. Mumin Selami decided to break the encirclement and, through intense fire, attacked the fascists with revolvers and hand grenades, where he was killed.
