Jaho Gjoliku, a patriot, democrat, participant in the National Liberation Anti-Fascist War, and People’s Hero, passed away. He was born in Ku\u00e7 of Kurvelesh in 1885. In November 1912, he participated in raising the flag in Vlor\u00eb. He fought against Greek chauvinist forces in 1914. During the Vlora War (1920), he led the Ku\u00e7 guerrillas. As an opponent of the monarchy regime, he was sentenced to death after the failure of the Fier uprising in 1935 but was pardoned due to the intervention of the upper class of Kurvelesh. After the country became occupied, he joined the ranks of the partisans, along with his two sons, who fell as martyrs. Initially appointed commander of Group IV of \u00c7am\u00ebria (1943), he later became commander of the Sixth Assault Brigade (1944), participating in many battles both within and beyond state borders as part of the Fifth Assault Division. After liberation, he was entrusted with important duties in the People’s Army. A member of the Albanian Labor Party since 1949, he served as a deputy in the People’s Assembly for several terms.
