Haf\u00ebz Ali Kor\u00e7a, a nationalist activist, teacher, poet, and journalist, passed away in Kavaj\u00eb. He was born in Kor\u00e7\u00eb in 1873. He completed his secondary education in his hometown. He pursued higher studies in theology and philosophy in Istanbul. Upon returning, he served as a mufti in Kor\u00e7\u00eb and took care of establishing a high school, where he also taught. He performed the duties of Chief Mufti of the High Council of Sharia in Shkod\u00ebr (1918) and Chairman of the High Council of Sharia in Tirana (1918\u20131924). He was one of the founders of the Tirana Madrasa and one of its first teachers. He was sentenced by the communist regime as a reactionary cleric and a member of the National Front. In his later years, he was interned in Kavaj\u00eb. He published \u201cAlfabeti Arabisht\u201d (\u201cArabic Alphabet\u201d) (1914) for teaching the Arabic language; “Gramatika, Syntaksa shqip-abisht” (\u201cAlbanian-Arabic Syntax, grammar\u201d) and \u201cFjalime\u201d (Speeches) for secondary schools (1916); \u201cShtat\u00eb \u00ebndrrat e Shqip\u00ebris\u00eb\u201d (\u201cThe Seven Dreams of Albania\u201d) (1924), \u201cKur\u2019ani i Madh\u00ebnueshim e thelbi i tij\u201d (“The Magnificent Qur’an and its Essence”) (1926), etc. (In the photo: Haf\u00ebz Ali Kor\u00e7a)<\/i><\/p>\n
