Sand\u00ebr Prosi (Aleksand\u00ebr), actor of theater and cinema, People’s Artist, was born in Tirana. He completed high school in his hometown. In 1941, he played the role of Wilhelm Tell in Friedrich Schiller’s drama, which was not allowed to be staged by the fascist authorities. He started working as an actor in the People’s Theater in 1948. He played in Albanian dramas: \u201cToka jon\u00eb\u201d (\u201cOu land\u201d)<\/i> (Kol\u00eb Jakova), \u201cFurrnalta\u201d (\u201cThe furnace\u201d)<\/i> (Ruzhdi Pulaha), \u201cGjenerali i ushtris\u00eb s\u00eb vdekur\u201d (“The general of the dead army”) <\/i>(based on the novel by Ismail Kadare, dramatized by Pirro Mani), and in dramas from foreign literature: “Hamlet”, “Othello”, “Intrigue and love” etc. As an artist in the field of cinematography, he skillfully performed important roles in many films, such as: \u201cGjenerali i ushtris\u00eb s\u00eb vdekur\u201d (“The general of the dead army”)<\/i>, \u201cUdha e shkronjave\u201d (“The way of letters”)<\/i>, \u201cN\u00eb fillim t\u00eb ver\u00ebs\u201d(\u201cAt the beginning of summer\u201d)<\/i>, \u201cN\u00ebntori i dyt\u00eb\u201d (\u201cThe second november\u201d)<\/i> etc. Sand\u00ebr Prosi performed more than 100 roles on stage and on screen, where he created characters such as: Dhaskal Todri, Ismail Qemal Vlora, Jaho Labi, Othello, Horati, etc. He was an actor mainly of the tragic-dramatic plane, with a warm voice, calm movements, fluent words; he mainly excelled in the drawing of epic-heroic figures, of leaders or simple noble people with a rich spiritual world, who accept sacrifice.
