He participated in the resistance against fascism from the first days of the occupation. Exiled on Ventotene Island (April 1939 \u2013 August 1941). After returning to his homeland, he continued his anti-fascist activity and was imprisoned again. Member of the Albanian Communist Party since its foundation. Took part in courageous actions of guerrilla units in Tirana (1942). He was appointed political commissar of the first detachment of Skrapar (1942) and then political commissar of the partisan battalion of Gor\u00eb-Opar (1943).
