In P\u00ebrmet, Laver Bariu, clarinetist, singer and creator of \u201cGrupi i sazeve t\u00eb P\u00ebrmetit\u201d, People’s Artist, passed away. He was born in P\u00ebrmet, in 1929. He was formed as a musician in the family environment, under the influence of his father and his friends, musicians and folk singers. He was also influenced by the instrumentists of Leskovik. Laver Bariu has participated in all folklore festivals of Gjirokastra, in other national festivals and in many tours abroad. He has made music recordings in the main institutions of the country as well as in the Albanian Radio Television and accompanied well-known folk singers. He has also produced several CDs with Albanian and foreign researchers. He is a participant and main producer of music in a number of films of \u201cKinostudio \u2018Shqip\u00ebria e Re\u2019 \u201d, such as: \u201cGjeneral Gramafoni\u201d (\u201cGeneral Gramophone\u201d) <\/i>(1977), \u201cK\u00ebng\u00ebt e zemr\u00ebs\u201d (\u201cSongs of the heart)<\/i> (1989). In 2001, by the decision of the municipal council of the city of P\u00ebrmet, he was declared an “Honorary Citizen”, alongside the brothers Frash\u00ebri, Odhise Paskali and Mentor Xhemali.
