Abdulla Rami, jurist, philosopher and translator, passed away. He was born in Tatzat of Delvina, in 1908. He started his first years of schooling in Egypt and finished it in the 20s, in Delvina. During the years 1927-1931, he studied at the French Lyceum of Kor\u00e7a, where he graduated in philosophy. After serving as a missionary of knowledge in Fier, P\u00ebrmet and Delvina, in the years 1931-1936, he continued his studies at the Faculty of Law at the University of Montpellier, in France, and graduated in jurisprudence. In July 1940, he was appointed a judge in P\u00ebrmet and then in Konispol, and two years later, a first-class judge in the legal administration of Gjilan, in Kosova. In September 1943, he supported the Mukje Conference , defending the ideal of nationwide union for a free and ethnic Albania. He was among the most prominent representatives of the “Balli Komb\u00ebtar” organization for the district of Gjirokastra and openly opposed the spread of communist ideas in Albania. On December 16, 1944, he was arrested as an opponent of the communist regime and was initially sentenced to life imprisonment, later commuted to thirty years in prison, of which he served eighteen years in Burrel Prison. After his release from prison, his family was interned to Gos\u00eb, Kavaja. He was denied the right to exercise the profession of lawyer and judge and was forced to work as a manual laborer in forced labor until the end of his life. He has translated works by French and English authors, such as: Victor Hugo, Jean-Marie Guyau, Clarence Dey, Henry Van Dyke, William Ernest Henley, Lord Byron, James Montgomery, Walter Scott, Emily Jane Bront\u00eb, William Johnson Cory, Andre Ch\u00e9nier.
